Postcards From Home #7 - Jen of Quench Metalworks

Hello! This is Jen, the person behind Quench Metalworks. I live in rural and woodsy South China, Maine with my husband, daughter, and two rambunctious dogs.

I have to admit that I wished to delay my postcard submissions until the green came back to our wintry state. However, April 1st brought some much needed sun after a week of rain and lured me outside to tend to my waking gardens with a camera in tow. Green and pretty my land is yet to be, but the jonquils and poppies are sprouting up and that brings us much joy after a long, cold winter.

The photo of my bench captures its midday clutter. I clean and organize before sitting down each day, but the mess of tools rebuilds rather quickly.

My daughter is the center of our lives. Feisty, opinionated, charming, and precocious....she is a Leo to the core.

  1. Nice to meet you, Jen :)

I hear you about a wintry place to live - we were lucky this year up here.

Darling daughter, by the way.. I love your work, just so you know :)

  3. Nice to meet you as well, Jude!

My darling daughter is 90% darling....yesterday was a horror show:)

Amber, it is impossible to keep all the tools in their place. This drove my German instructors nuts!

  4. I've long admired your work, Jen, and it's nice to catch a glimpse of the artist behind the artwork!

Your little munchkin is adorable. And I'm SO relieved to see a workbench like mine that's not 100% orderly.. seems I always have about 12 projects going at once!

    Wonderful 'postcard' here.

  7. Hi Jen, your daughter appears to be a big helper, (or she just really like bread!) and a cutie-pie, too! The rural area that you live in looks similar to the rural part of PA. where I live. I think your work is wonderful and enjoyed getting to see a glimpse of where you make the magic happen. :0)

  8. Hi Jen, really nice to see your place, it's beautiful! I'm from Montreal, Canada, so I know about how magical this time of the year is, when you can practically watch the plants growing! I love your spring pictures, especially the first one. (I live in Uruguay now, so it's south american autumn arriving on my side...)
Also nice to meet your little sweetie!
    Best,
    Julie

  9. Thanks for all of your comments!! I love this team!

Victoria, my husband is the bread person in the family...I like to make my own, but I can not keep up with his appetite!

And, I'm glad that I'm not the only one with a clutter workspace. Time to clean when I can't find something for 10 minutes and is only one foot away!

  10. Can really relate to how fast a work idea clutters up! I have a huge worktable that starts out organized and is a mess in an hour!

Your daughter is adorable. I am a Leo also!
Have always thought it was a great sign to be born under.
